Over the past year or so I've been searching eBay off and on in the hopes of coming across a "riesling-type" beryl. I've never seen anything actually labelled Riesling or Riesling-like on eBay, but my hope has been that somebody will have similar material and not know. It was with this in mind that I purchased a yellow-green beryl, which looked like (from the dealer photos) it might have a bit of c-axis green bleeding through at the ends. Well, not exactly, as it turned out. The AB shows a pale green-yellow, nothing too terribly unusual:
But the C-axis is much more dramatic:
So... I'll have to keep looking, since this isn't the elusive Riesling coloration at all. But at least it is a genuine oddball. I've seen zoning like this in Columbian emeralds (green/colorless/green concentric zones) but never in an aqua/heliodor mix like this.
