My husband said it's a lump of coal. I say it's a dinosaur head. I burned it in my pot belly stove. It didn't burn so I laid it in the snow. After winter I looked at it. I said OMG!

I was able to ask a geologist. He said it comes from the upper crust probably. That's where he finds ocasional dino bones. Rather than the rockpile I get to take a real trip to Casper ? Not a common find any way. My guess is most people ain't toe flippers? Lol I'll keep posting.

Uhmm...that's NOT a real dinosaur head mewho.
I think you may have asked the geologist where one might find a dinosaur head fossil and he answered "usually in upper crust sedimentary rocks". At least I'm hoping that was the scenario.

I love humour a laugh a day. A smile a day So now to the dino head. He was referring to the crust just above the coal bed. That was formed somthing like 10 myan afterwards. Bla bla bla. Dinosaur head get it tested. Lol! That's about what my brain sinks in. I knew coal was formed from sediment but a layer above that contains dinosaur. (Rarely) It looked like a lump of coal when roasted. I heat the old fashioned way. Wood or coal. Occasionally It gets mixed in.
