I would guess rose quartz, but keep in mind I'm not that familiar with physical properties of minerals yet, so there could be visual clues that I don't know to look for that would give it away for someone else.
To calibrate exposure, put a dark cloth next to the stone and move the camera until the brightness level of the full image is right for the camera to not over or under expose. Then crop out the dark cloth in the final photo. Good trick for opals on some cameras as well.
