I received an email with these pictures today. Looks like a carbonate to me, but I'd appreciate some more definitive feedback.

General xonolite info:
Cleavage: {???} Good
Color: Colorless, Gray, Lemon white, Light gray, Pink.
Density: 2.7
Diaphaneity: Transparent
Fracture: Tough - Difficult to break apart as shown by fibrous minerals and most metals.
Habit: Acicular - Occurs as needle-like crystals.
Habit: Massive - Uniformly indistinguishable crystals forming large masses.
Hardness: 6.5 - Pyrite
Luminescence: Fluorescent, Short UV=weak gray-white, Long UV=weak white.
Luster: Vitreous - Silky
Magnetism: Nonmagnetic
Streak: white

looks like rhodochrosite to me...not xonotlite
