 Post subject: Amethyst displaying a very rare crystal shape..must see

This is from that big amethyst dig we did up in Virginia. I took this video and never uploaded it until now. Check out the shape of some of the crystals on this specimen. They look like spinel crystals with the classic dipyramidial shape. The large M face..the big prismatic crystal side that usually makes up the majority of the base/lower portion of a quartz crystal...is barely there. Some have the m faces as a thin line similar to a girdle on a gemstone or they are non-existent all together. It gives it that diamond-like shape by cutting back towards a single point..ie. terminating on the opposite side of the main termination....LOL
