The crystals you found are very pretty and with a little cleanup would make a lovely shelf specimen. But it is neither an ape skull, nor sprinkled with diamond crystals. |

A junk jewellery dealer of my acquaintance always has by him a slip of carborundum and applies it to anything that might be diamond. As he says, "I don't often find one, but when I do, it makes the added effort more than worthwhile". As a first step to weed out non-starters it is well worth the expense. |
