So, I've taken the plunge and purchased a Wild M400.
I'm looking to set up a system to photograph gemstones now.
I was wondering what camera people would recommend to use with a Wild M400. I understand that some other parts are needed like a T-Mount for the camera and another part. I've found bits of information here and there but haven't been able to piece them together yet. I think a full frame DSLR would be over kill for this since the resolution is wasted and it adds complexity. I've read elsewhere that older model Nikons can really work well with this setup but I don't know what their advantage is over other systems. I have an old Nikon 5400 lying around but really don't mind purchasing a permanent camera just for the M400.
I'm also looking for a semi-compact stand to mount the M400 on.

Give these people a ring: http://www.cleequipment.net/289256.html anything up to 700 bucks is half reasonable. Add one of [url=http://www.ebay.com/itm/DARKFIELD-CONDENSER-FOR-STEREO-MICROSCOPES-/200288573252?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ea2211744]these[url] and you have yourself a setup. The lower ring of that DF condenser unscrews which makes it fit the hole in that base snugly.

That stand doesn't seem to be available. Any other options out there guys?
