I want to know your opinion on these animations jewelry 3D/360º. Normally the small size is used for Web. In the sample see the small and large samples, not the medium size.

They look nice, congrats! =D>

How many time do you need to get one such animation?
How much Mb for small one and large one?

I need between 5 to 20 minutes to have an animation. Depends of the dificult of the Jewel, set the lights, etc. This time is from i get the jewel in my hand, clean, put in the device, set the angle to move, test, go to INI position, start take photos and END the photos and have the final animation. Normally 5-10 minutes. If I need to repeat the process need from 10 to 20 minutes.

The size depends of the jewel, but for example in the first Jewel (http://veronicavelojewels.com/Animaciones/Joya001.html) the small have 487Kb and in the big size 1,21Mb for the complete animation.

Thanks,
Oscar.

A 360º view would be useful for sales. The quality is spectacular.

How would this be a better idea than some of those rotating stages that folks often use for gems. Those seem quite easy to do?
Certainly the quality of the finished product is superior in your animation, but I suspect it is a far more complicated process.

Hi Barbra,

Glad you like it. Respect to the process, it's very easy.

I make this 3D/360º project to use for people without being a specialist in photography, computers, etc..

Of course if you use one manual method is very complicated because need to move the Gems or Jewel manually, take a picture without touch the camera to avoid movements, move again the Gem or jewel until finish the pictures and make an animation, for example in Adobe flash.

In the automatic mode, use my software (for comercial propouse), only need to set the camera from the computer application in LiveView, see in the screen the jewel or gem, set the INI and END position of rotation (can be 360º or less) and press the Process buttom, automatically move the device, take the photo, move again until end and make the animation automatically without adobe flash and see the result. Of course, you can simulate before to take photos or when you have the animation, change parameters for example, change the size and generate again the animation without take again photos.

I have one free project to build an device and use a free software (only in spanish language) but is only for personal use, not for publish in Internet, Commercial propoused, etc.

But independent of this process, i want to know the opinions of many of you on what you think to present in this way the jewels and of course, the gems.

Regards, Oscar.

I like this a lot. :smt023 In the future you might consider making it possible for the viewer to control the viewing angle and zoom amount. This would allow a remote viewer to have some control and feel even more like the piece were in front of them. Very nice the way it is though!

Hi Michael,

You can use the left mouse buttom, press in the animation and move from left to right, you can stop the animation and see the frames.

If you press inside of the animation wiith the right button, can change the zoom factor from Adobe Player. Not is very well but is possible.

In the future html5 animation format, you have controls.

Regards, Oscar.

Michael, you can also use the pictures taken with Oscar's stage and mount them manually in HTML5.
Here is an example I made manually: http://gem-sphalerite.com/sphalerite-jewelry (go to the link in the very last line of the page)
You can use mouse to rotate it and zoom.
Actually, it's like having a jewel in your hand!

Hi Oscar

very nice results. What was your camera set up? Did you have to do a lot of work to make the jewellery holder disapear?
