I would love to know if anyone has actually (or can/will) try this. It would be really interesting to see results and what the image quality is like.

If the camera lens and the binoculars were carefully selected it would probably outperform almost all stereo microscopes. Does it remind you of anything Tim?

It would be an enjoyable experiment. I have put it on the schedule and it will commence about 2051 right after my hundredth birthday party.

I would make the head tilt 45 degrees. The same site has several other designs too

Definitely! Yes, some of the other ideas are pretty cool too. The zoom factor in this one was what got my attention.

Looking at This, or This, would you be able to use the zoom in binocs effectively instead of a fixed magnification?

This is actually a fantastic idea!! As mentioned, as long as you chose the Binocs and lens carefully for optimal IQ and resolution, this would definitely outperform most scopes on the market!!

In macro photography we have been doing similar things for years! In fact, now, you don;t even have to make the adapters yourself as you can buy them in any size from Ebay, but you would be amazed at the IQ you can get and magnification from simply taking a lens and reversing it onto the camera! Instead of mounting it as you normally would you get a reverse adapter that matches the filter threads on your lens and then mount it on the camera backwards. Works like a charm! I will see if can manage to snag some shots this afternoon for you.

Greetings One & All

So would you call this, “AHIQPMW Scope”? = A High IQ Poor Man’s Wild Scope?

Or a IHWTMTOMHW Scope? = I have way too much time on my hands Wild Scope?

You should have never posted this because now I’m having strange ideas of what to do in my Frankenstein workshop basement.
