looks cool BUT no zoom and 2 mag only, 0.6X and 1.6X. How could that be usfeul to spot gemstone inclusions? :roll:

The parts are worth a great deal more that the price if someone was wanting to set up a Zeiss scope.
Photo adapters even not complete as this one is routinely bring $500. (It will probably fit an SV6/11) This has the intermediate lens to attach it to a coolpix which will take very satisfactory pictures for the web.
The fiber optics are worth at about one or two hundred dollars.
The large base is very useful since it has enough room for any darkfield you would want to stick on it including ones from Zeiss.

If you want a Zeiss outfit Plug and Play you need to expect to drop about $6,000 as recent complete ones have gone for.

i agree on this but it's quite different than advice the whole scope as a big deal.
we must always have in mind we're posting our comments and advices in a place where some members came with no clue about what a good scope is, sometimes they are only looking for a gemological scope.......
