I am in the process of fixing a Hartridge Reversion Spectroscope I bought it off eBay recently that shows only one spectrum.

After I took off the cover of the eye piece, I have found a 3/4 round shape glass that was half shattered. Does anyone knows if it is just a plain piece of glass with a black line in between to separate two spectrums, or is it a polarising/ diffraction grating filter?

Thanks in advance!

Sunny
