Thats alot of very uniformly coloured cut stones in that pic. The colour looks like diopside. Could those stones be synthetic?

Could the 'green garnets' possibly be 'YAG' or chromium yttrium aluminium garnet?

:? i wonder about those "russian demantoids," too, pedro. they could be chrome diopside, but, as you mentioned they usually are more saturated in color, and i have noticed that some, usually over a carat, appear almost black. wonder what they are. if they are smaller stones, smaller than 1 carat, they could possibly be chrome diopside??

Based on the shape and clarity of most of the rough I've seen, I'm not surprised.

Welcome Ambar!

Dr. Ilaria Adamo from Milano / Italy worked about them.

https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Il ... cf87b0.pdf

Nik ( arglthesheep ) bought a lot of larger crystals up to 3 ct - he let them cut in mostly round ones. So if somebody here needs a nice item ( rough and cut ) from this rare location send him a PM. He has now esp. stones around 0,20-0,25 ct and rough in this size.

I still have a clean 2,8 ct crystal but I keep this one uncut.

Some have small black chromian magnetite exactly in the center.
I got a round brilliant from the rough - you see now the reflection several times in the rim of brillant - looks like a watch.

The color range is a beautiful lighter yellowgreen to light green.
