if it's absurdly beautiful, I think Imperial Schitolite would be appropriate, as opposed to, you know, more pedestrian varieties.

[snob mode ON] I can clearly detect a prominent brown mask in your shitolite piece... [snob mode OFF]

(but the Swiss army knife scales I made from a coprolite slab were really colorful and beautiful :P )

Those of us who collect in the field are more familiar with junkite and leaverite. Although that's what Peter said about much of the rough I found in Tucson. I'm learning...

The "Healy-feelies" have taken over Tucson now that the gem folks have left. John suggested we look for oxycontinite if we really wanted to feel better...

What I thought was particularly funny is that suddenly when it's a gem mineral, all the dealers want to pronounce it "die-AS-pra" rather than "die-uh-spore."

Arya, years ago I brought a new stone to my jeweler for pendent, it was a yellow beryl, @14cts in a heart shape. I took it in to him in a very cold condition & told him with a straight face, the material was a new find called Urinite, only found around outhouses & if allowed to melt was known to foul ur cloths if in contact. As I looked at his face, he almost bought the story, & we both laughed, but for a while I had him wondering what this stuff really was-m76... 8)
