Post subject:  Inclusions in Red Stone

This stone has RI 1.705 and SG 4.09. I think it is a Garnet. In photo "inclusions 2" we can see enlarged inclusions and in photo "inclusions 3" there is one triangular (in the white cycle). Can it be triangular platinum crystals of Pulled synthetics ? In photo "inclusions 4" we can see curve striae. Are there synthetic Garnets or the stone is not a Garnet ?

Thanks

That last picture is polishing marks on the surface, not curved straie inside.

the 1st and 2nd pictures shows something looking natural to me.
3rd, as Julie said, are surface scratches/lines likely due to bad polishing...........

With a RI at 1.705 it is very unlikely that the stone be a garnet. Or did you mean 1.750 ?

Julie , thanks for your information because I have many stones with this marks and i though it was curved straie.

Isi, hi
I am not gemologist. I studied agriculturalist. It is 1.705 and i said Garnet, because i read it on "Refractive Idex Reference Chart" of the company i bought my Refractometer. It says 1.696 to 2.030 for general Garnet.

Too low for garnet, pyrope garnets typically start at 1.714, but since they almost always form w/ almandine, you typically see these reddish pyrope/almandine ~1.74ish or higher (more like 1.77) inclusions look natural, but unless the reading was incorrect... the hunt continues

Judging from inclusions, surface condition and facet junctions, coloration, and data you supplied, look towards Willemite as a possibility. Not commonly seen faceted, but the inclusions are possible, brittle so facet junctions being abraded are likely, etc.
