I received 4 large rocks. I was able to catch on photo tenebrescence (just on 1 now, later will do all). A few darker crystals, not affected anyhow, are probably crystals of vesuvianite.

Studio day light 5500K:

Tenebrescent color after 5 min in UV-box under LUV and after 20 seconds fading, time I spent to move rock from UV-box to studio-cube, photographed under studio day light 5500K:

Same rock under studio incandescent light 2800K:

I am expecting some more samples arrive soon. So total will be over then 10 pieces different size, rich of crystals with showing both tenebrescence and color change of effect. Some maybe facet grade maybe cabochon grade larger crystals are presented on new coming samples.

All are available for research if any one will would like to take them and do it.

I would contact the Colored Stone Lab at GIA or Nathan Renfro specifically. Research is a subjective word. One needs access to sophisticated instrumentation to properly do the job.

recently (so very late) i came across your fanatastic article / find and great pictures of the Diopside from Bazhenovskoe.
Incredible. Was there any followup of the reason of the color change?

I am also very interested in Fluorescence and Tenebrescence...
May i ask you if you know where i can get such a piece?
I would be so happy.
thank you so much and best regards
Harald
