Hello,
I just received an email from GemVal saying that the owner had passed away and caused service interruption. It asked for an email address to receive a free 6-month subscription.
Just wondering if anyone else had received this email and whether anyone knew if it was legit, rather than some phishing scam.

Maybe that explains an odd experience I just had with Gemval. I paid their membership fee out of curiosity to learn how its price info relates to the market prices I see. But I wasn't allowed access to information on stones like sapphire, spinel etc. Instead I got a drop-down saying that info is restricted to subscribers only.
Since I was a subscriber I emailed them 3 times asking why I couldn't access it but got no response. I finally filed a dispute with PayPal, asking either to receive full service or a refund. Today I was sent a refund with no other explanation. It makes me wonder why the company is still soliciting subscriptions if it can't provide the services it advertises.

Thanks Terry.
I can see how hard it must be to do what they are trying to do. I'll be interested to see what I find. It can be comforting to know the rough size of the ball park.
Hi! Does anybody know something about the Gemval if they still in business or not? Last week I have paid them to subscribe for their premium account for one month and still there is absolutely no reaction from them. Nobody answers to my mails and nobody answers in Facebook.
