Posting pictures of the alexandrite pendent under good lighting, i was asked to do this months ago and these pics are what one should see alex 'in the flesh'. no photo shop, daylight pic is with LEDs, red pic is with 2 candles in a dark room with pend in a setup to secure the pendent for photo, several hours work, the forum can judge- :shock: 8)

Very very nice Ruby!

The World was a better place for Alexandrite when the only light sources were daylight, and candle or oil lamps.

Nice work and very nice alexandrites. Mind you, can I suggest that you get a filament auto bulb and make a voltage dropper (a big variable resistor will do it) then you can reduce the voltage to the bulb until the colour temperature of the light is 2,000K or so, which will be a reasonable match for candlelight but a lot brighter.
