Can anyone suggest a supplier for natural, untreated golden yellow topaz? My client's looking for something larger than a 10 x 8 oval. He'll also consider trillion and cushion cuts. There's so much treated stuff out there as well as citrine sold as topaz that it's hard to sort the real stuff from the junk.
I have some pure yellow ('saffron') material that's stable and untreated (and actually topaz). Golden (with some orange mixed in) is a bit harder, given the common stability problems and how undetectable treatment is--you'd probably want some of the lower-grade imperial topaz from Ouro Preto, though sourcing it isn't as easy as it seems like it should be.

Thanks Stephen, I may be in touch with you on that. But right now I'm looking for a well-cut stone in the size/shape mentioned. And I'm finding it unexpectedly hard to locate one. My client's in a bit of a hurry.
I do have one cut, about a 11.5 x 9.5, 5.95 carats. Overseas cut but decent with no window, nice pure yellow color. But it does have a veil in the center. Not as visible in person as in the photo but yeah.
I have a bunch of lighter-toned Guerrero topaz, somewhere, no doubt including stones in this size range. I think of them as being more light orange-peach than gold, but the color ranges overlap nicely.

We have quite a lot of Ouro Preto material. Are you going to attend AGTA Las Vegas?
