Pala just acquired a 130ct. parcel from an old estate. My guess a parcel that large came from the Harris family..

Another thing about red beryl, is that you can now collect it/dig for it in Utah. I found this out only in the last year or so, and have no idea when that started up, or how it came to pass that one could go mining there in the first place. Back when I bought, sold, and/or collected red beryl quite often, you never heard of any current mining operations and/or major new discoveries at the Violet's claim deposit, so it surprised me one day, around a year ago or so ago(maybe a little earlier that 1 year), when I saw that a mining buddy of mine had just been there, and "self-collected" some of them. I asked another buddy of mine and he confirmed that "Yes", you can collect there now". I don't have any other details or info to add, except for the fact red beryl is ssooooooo much more expensive these days, than it ever was when I bought/sold it.

Well, there's collecting, and then there's collecting.

I'm sure you can find very tiny, opaque red beryls, but surely nobody is going to allow you on property that produces gem quality stuff.

Topaz, bixbyite, pseudobrookite, wonderful things in those Utah mountains.
