Hello everyone,

I'm new in this forum, and I've read all the informations I found about the flux healing treatment during the heating process.

Still don't know how it can affects the price of the stone, let' s say between H and H(a) for same quality/characteristics, what's the price differences in terms of percentage? That's something I'm tryng to understand but can't find any clear informations anywhere.

I bought this ring recently for 9k++ usd plus the setting (around 1k++) so roughly I paid a total of 10.500 usd. I tot was heated only (which should have been graded as H if so and not H(a)) and i tot made a good deal, because the stone really look beautiful to me.

But after resarcing about the meaning of the h(a) grade stated on my GRS certificate, I understood is treated with minor residue ( even it's the lowest grade only 0.001 ct of foreign substance, borax) still technically is considered a treated stone, if i did proper "homeworks", right?

Now my question is, do you think I overpaid this stone ? After I discovered more informations about this minor residues (called also "flux healing") , and I'm not sure anymore if what I paid is the right price, if I can still consider it as a good deal, or if I paid too much.

The GRS Swiss Lab says

- Burma natural ruby.
- 2.16 ct
- vivid red ( GRS type " pigeon's blood")
- comment: H(a)

From what I know it's Mong Hsu ruby.

This is the ring

The ring is already mine so what is done is done, but still I'd love to learn more from this experience.
Thank you for taking time to share your knowledge!

I think the ring is beautiful and $10,500 seems like a fair price to me.
