Hello! I am not a gemologist or rock expert in any way, however, I do love gorgeous stones and gems.

These stones were given to me by a friend, and the more raw stones I purchased from an adorable kid selling them outside a general store in Mitchell, Oregon.

I was hoping someone might be able to help me identify what all of them are? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

The purple one is amethyst (low quality amethystine agate). The one to its left looks like carnelian. THe one below it has some amethyst in quartz. Tee top one looks to me to be a very low quality opal. For all of these you should be warned that it is very difficult to tell from a picture. For example, The amethystine agate *might* be dyed (I doubt it), the carnelian could be a fire opal.

Agree, Top- Opal-Common, Bottom/Left-Tumbled or Polished Amethyst Section, Bottom/Right-Blue Lace Chalcedony, Middle is Agate can be considered Carnelian, a shade light in color.

That top tan piece might be a piece of Bruneau jasper - rhyolite skin, low translucency, caramel color... Just doesn't show well defined orbicular banding they are known for in the best pieces. Here is a decent, darker piece.

Would have to really see it in person to know for sure.

Thanks for including photos that are actually in focus and high resolution.
Agree largely with the above comments with one exception, the white and purple one is probably fluorite (a chinese type which was briefly sold as "chinese charoite" to the unwary). Look for any little zone of green color in that.

Here are some additional closer photos of each individual stone. Perhaps this helps? Thanks!

Yes I believe you are right on the Bruneau call as it does originate in your area and in the posters. I looked in a set of cabs I cut out of a slab of bruneau some years back and the colors are mostly the same.
