 Post subject: any Information would be greatly appreciated

I found this while surveying for kimberlite. I believe those are garnets and sapphires.

Well if your okay with a little destruction, you can extract them and have them tested. Where were you surveying?

Since you are surveying you are probably using geologic maps of the area. Describe the associated rock types you are expecting to find in the area.

I think we can safely say that is not kimberlite.

Garnets a reasonable possibility. Nothing in the picture looks like corundum to me. See in person with access to equipment like a RAMAN are really what is required.

Thank you for your response. Suspected rock types for the geographical location would primarily include Quartz and Calcite, i have been finding what and abundance of platinum/quartz and gold/quartz.
