Heya folks! I recently saw a debate between two people arguing about whether morganite was color stable. Both sides were fairly convinced that it either always or never faded. I suspect the answer was somewhere in the middle.
I tried doing some searching online for any academic papers or studies, but I had trouble finding anything definitive. About the best I could find was this article on GIA, which describes heat-treated morganite as color stable: https://www.gia.edu/morganite-quality-factors
"The gem is almost always heat-treated to improve the pink color. The treatment is not detectable. Heat drives off the yellow or orange tinge, leaving a purer and more attractive pink. The resulting color is stable and won’t fade."
But nothing mentioned on irradiated morganite.
So! I'm posting here to see if anyone else has insight or experience. I'd love to find if any studies have been done on it.

I have heard that some morganite can be naturally treated by the sun to improve the color, but over time it fades back. But just extravagant back woods theory I suppose.
