Alan Hodgkinson, President of the Scottish Gemmological Association, is a longtime supporter of AGA education programs and the first recipient of the Antonio Bonanno Award for Excellence in Gemology. If a spam post got approved it was an oversight by one of us, probably over worked, overly tired, and not reading thoroughly. If you knew the amount of posts that get flushed, and accounts which are banned, you'd appreciate that an occasional oversight is expected.
Oh, absolutely. I've helped with that on other sites before and I know how hard it is behind the scenes to keep these things afloat. I'm certainly not trying to offer criticism, I'm just curious about the details

The first 10 posts needing approval was in place within 30 days of the forum's inception. We naively opened to all the first couple of weeks we were up and were inundated with posts advertising and supplying links for cigarettes, viagra, cameras, designer shoes and bags, Russian wives, you name it, GemologyOnline offered it.
