Post subject: polariscope reaction of polycristalline diamond

Polycristalline diamonds can be transluscent (notably the polycrystalline varieties know as boart which is a granular aggregate and ballas which is a fibrous aggregate). When transluscent, what reaction should be expected under the polariscope?
As I understand it microcrystalline/cryptocrystalline aggregates will appear light all the time throughout a 360° rotation only if the aggregates is made of anisotropic grains. So as polycrystalline diamonds are polycrystalline aggregates of fine isotropic grains or fibers, I guess it should either appear dark throughout a 360° rotation, or possibly show polarization anomalies, but it should NOT appear light all the time like anisotropic aggregates do. Am I right?
