in my end of the industry, older cuts are very important. their makes are just as important to the pricing as the makes on new cuts. they simply shouldn't be graded to the same cut standard. i worked for GIA and have a ton of respect for the company and the people who work there. on this issue, however, they're quite behind. this talk/symposium should be very informative and because its sponsored by Rapaport, it's got good weight behind it.
