Last week I took out a diamond set, that I had received as a gift, 6 years back. I just used it once, but it seem to have lost its shine. Could anyone suggest me any home remedy to get back its shine, cause I don't have that much to spend on them now and I need the set for a wedding next weekend. Is it even possible to get back its glow? I tried washing it with detergent, but it dint do much help. Would like to hear some solution on this. Thanks in advance.

There are too many variables to give opinions on cleaning.
Post a picture of the suite, so we know how it's mounted and what it's mounted in.
Platinum, gold, vermeil, silver, something else?
Are the stones foil backed?
Diamonds don't "loose their shine" after being stored for a few years, nor a few decades. Unless they are stored in a can of Crisco.

Need more information.
Thanks.
