Sarine Clarity and Sarine Color are expected to be available commercially in 2017

Sarine Technologies, the jewlery technology company based in Hod Hasharon, Israel, has developed an automated diamond measurement and grading system.

Sarine Clarity, which determines clarity grading, and Sarine Color, which evaluates color with lab-grade accuracy, will “enhance confidence both in the individual diamond’s valuation throughout the entire diamond pipeline, and consumer trust at the point of sale,” according to a release.

The technologies are currently being tested large-scale in India and are expected to be commercially available in mid-2017. Manufacturers, gem labs, and other downstream players will be able to buy the equipment and pay a fee based on usage.

“Once again, Sarine introduces groundbreaking technological innovation into the global diamond industry—technology that will revolutionize the way the diamond industry and consumers perceive clarity grading, and transform the polished sourcing and sorting process,” said Sarine CEO Uzi Levami in a statement. “With this breakthrough from the Start-Up Nation, we have solved the 4Cs puzzle and more, providing innovative solutions for clarity, color, and cut, as well as light performance and other parameters. Technological standardization translates into greater credibility for the industry and increased trust for the diamond consumer.”

From the "start-up nation"? That's a new one.
Sarine seems to think having separate detection units has some benefit. For the end user experience, the marketing approach should be a combination of color and clarity detection in one unit.
"Manufacturers, gem labs, and other downstream players will be able to buy the equipment and pay a fee based on usage."
So, Sarine is selling the machines with a per use license. No thank you. It's all about maximizing their revenue stream at the customer's expense.

The most important factor will be time of scanning . If it will be very fast (inclusion scanning) it could be great machine for Labs especially for unification of clarity results and clarity grading without speculations . But if not it will be only useful for big stones and big labs .Additionaly we dont know nothing about sizes of stones . Probably it will use same technology as Galaxy machine ( for rough) . You can find on hte market few types of GALAXY machines like XL , Meteor , 1000,2000 depending on size of stones. Also not so new machine SARINE LOUPE for 3D Diamond illustration is on the same" per use " base ( and 30 k usd for the start) and it is nice tool but …slow and then useless for labs .
