You heard about http://www.cbsnews.com/news/diamond-bou ... t-auction/ ?

A 26.27 carat white diamond was bought 30 years ago for $15 at a flea market supposed as an imitation jewelry ring and now is expected to fetch about $454,000 when it is auctioned by Sotheby's next month.

We should look more for bargains on flea markets ....

"Only" 454000 $ ??

For an 26,27 ct 19th century diamond. Maybe from India, Brazil or South Africa??

Should check my Piggybank....

Maybe not a bad idea for some flea market vendors to visit GO...

It would be great to try to find the original vendor and cut them a check for $10,000. after the sale goes through.
Might be a life changing gesture for both parties. 8)

@Barbra great Idea =D> would only be a fair gesture....

I think it is the same or lower chance to find something like this on a flea market than winning in lottery.
So going on fleamarket wont make you rich

I don't agree....but I am an a....ole 8)

The history of this diamond would be interessting - what happened that such a precious stone finally was offered on a flea market.

Marlow made me think......not everyone is generous...and I'm not talking about Marlow.
If you were to track down the original owner, they may feel entitled to MORE than the $10,000.

Forget about it.

yes humans are greedy

there was a study where 100 $ were offered to one guy if he shares 20 $ with another unknown.
mostly these deals did not work out because of the second wanted more then 20 $ mostly the half.
This is why people are unlucky, they don´t take the 20 bucks as they are for free, and want always more and rather break this deal then taking the 20 bucks...
unlogic greedy humans....
