Any one know of lab or other non natural being sold as natural rough diamonds? Bought one 3 years ago and thinking of getting a few more to set in silver, small, 1ct. or so.
Thanks

Then, I guess you know all synthetic diamonds will be type II.
Type I and type II diamonds can be distinguished by type II’s transparency under short-wave ultraviolet radiation and both types can be definitively separated by infrared spectroscopy or a buddy with an EXA.

Natural diamond xls commercially available for the public are usually a bit ugly.....except for the John Betts specimens. I'd still rather see them in a display case than in jewelry.

Synthetic diamond xls are more uniform:

There are lots of imitation rough diamonds on the market. However, most are in the diamond fields where small dealers sell them to uneducated buyers trying to get rich.

Agreed, I think imitations are far more of an issue than synthetics.
