Gals, Guys,

there are bad apples on both sides.

On another forum, the one for consumers, somebody is complaining about my terrible work.

Future victims beware: Do not fall for this guy's business. It's not worth the trouble. I won't name him but you will know when he comes.

He tortured me for over 8 months. I took it all.

He upped his demands monthly while his available funds decreased all the time. I took it all.

He changed his design demands weekly. I took it all.

Over 160 emails I answered to explained unrealistic expectations and he agreed, just to re-name the demands next month.

Now he wants to return the custom-made jewelry he chipped during his 'study'!

Nevertheless, I have no problem with his return, but he doesn’t want to stick to our return-rules. I made several increasingly generous offers for a return, which he all refused.

Now he starts a slander campaign and wants to sue us.

Stay away from such people!

ed

He continued ordering after receiving the first example?
If he wasn't pleased with your style, why order again?
Sometimes we have to prioritize our mental health over principle.

May I suggest exploring a full refund in exchange for removal of all negative posts and a cease and desist with mentioning your name or business at any time in the future.

Barbara,
Thanks, it's complicated but no sense going into details.

I had made it a principle never to let a customer walk unhappy, always make things right, never-mind the cost, as much as humanly possible. Of course, if somebody has a wrong color expectation and is disappointed, you can do nothing but refund asap and say sorry and offer any extra compensation possible.

In this case, for the very first time, I thought: 'no, that's too much', at least I will stick to my rules even if the customer doesn't like it. Because such a guy can't be made happy. He needs the negative air around him to breath and uses his funds to satisfy his ego and obsessions. And it's contiguous, they spread their unhappiness around.

As for offering him more money to remove posts, I think he can't, in many cases and anyways, he has totally outed himself by comparing others to rhesus monkeys and calling women 'illogical' or such stuff.

Sadly, he seeks emotional relief from gems by healing and astrology.

Not surprising.
New Age Idiot.
I'm sure everyone who matters already has his number.

Sidebar. A very wise man once told me:
re: those you want to curse the most
"Nothing you could do to them would make them any worse off than they already are. Look closely. They were cursed from birth more often than not."

Thanks for your support.

Final developments:
He (my tormentor) gets thrown out, blocked, from PS for crazy and name-calling. Perhaps the first time a consumer gets black-listed on PS for complaining about a professional?

Then, he comes back to me and says the sapphire is such a beauty, it has already changed his life etc. and he wants to keep it. For a reduced price only, of course.

He offers to delete all criticism and haggles for heavy discount. I agree, finally, to $3k discount, hoping to finish this nightmare. He promises to delete his post on PS.

Three days later, he is back and says the sapphire is so terrible. He doesn't want it anymore.

I have now blocked his email from my server. Finished. He can sue me till kingdom come.

Perfect example of "cursed from birth".
Submit all correspondence to PS and let them deal with this silly man.

There are some people who actively seek unhappiness, avoid them. In this case, I would make sure that you had hard copies of all email traffic ready to show the Judge if he does take it further!

Wow. What an experience.

Sounds like this poor fellow is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Shame that he lashes out and causes pain to those around him as a result.

I hope he finds something else to obsess over and leaves you alone.
