Hi
I bought a batt lap but my package got returned by airlines. Quite unfortunate. Maybe a restriction to ship it to my country.
So I want to get something similar from another country.
I wanted this lap because its a good one for a beginner and works well on all stones.

Please suggest a good alternative from another country.
Regards

I am in pakistan.
I got this reply from the faceting academy. 2
Air shippers have been rejecting BATT laps sent to Pakistan. They think
they are concealing some kind of contraband because they are heavy and
block the x-ray screening.

Look into the Ebay global shipping program. Not sure if there are any Batts listed on eBay currently. I know their international shipping seems to get products to places others can't. With all the global restrictions in place these days. Just a thought!

I will try to buy a batt lap from a dealer in another country.

My friend received a tin lap from Australia without any problem.

The challenges of the International gem industry are always popping up in different ways. I guess the traditional solution is to have the lap sent to a friend in another country, and have him hand carry it on his next visit. Slow, inefficient and a pain, but you will eventually have your BATT lap.

Was it Pakistan customs that rejected the lap or was it Pakistan International Airlines, 87% owned by the government?

You may have the same problem as on the Customs Declaration, the country of origin is USA.

It was US airlines/customs.
if a package enters Pakistan. it will either get delivered or it will get lost/stolen.
very seldom it is returned back to the origin country.

I can assure you that US Customs does not restrict the shipment of US manufactured lapidary polishing products from the US.
There are no US airfreight carriers who restrict the shipment of lawful goods out of the US.
They appreciate the revenue.
I think was some corrupt individuals employed by Pakistan International Airlines.

I agree with Thomas.
There is no such "US Airline\customs"
Who did you purchase it from? They are the shipper.
Who did they use to ship it to you? They are the carrier(s).
That carrier delivers it to your countries customs broker of record. It is your obligation or your assained brokers obligation to get it cleared through your port of entry. So the buck stops here in most cases. And in your case Pakastan.

Only items that are on a countries restriction list of non importable items will it never leave the U S. And even then it is unlikely.

And of course if the customs paperwork looks wonky from the get go "The shipment is likely doomed from the start." Anything else in that package not declared is a red flag as well.

I wish you all the best.
Keep us updated please.
