It's been a while since I've cut anything and I wanted to preview the cutting sequence of a design to make sure I don't mess it up.
Previously I'd gone to x-gem.com to load up the .gem file and then have it produce a nicely animated cutting sequence helping visualize what the facets and meets should look like. I just went to the site and get a 404 error.
I then did a search of GO for "x-gem" and variations of "facet sequence preview" but no hits.
Anyone know what's happened to it, and why I can't seem to find the old thread?
Thanks
-Allan
PS - I did use the Wayback Machine to confirm I'm not hallucinating. Unless I hallucinated that. It's been a rather rough Xmas day...

It's not dead but it does have a new home. The current version is available at facetlab.xyz. If you sign in/up you can upload .asc files; no .gem support at this time. It's all very much prototype quality still, incomplete, no guarantees and subject to change.
Excellent! Thanks for making this tool available - it's helped on a couple of difficult designs and stones that needed modifications because of inclusions etc.

Hmmm. I tried uploading two different asc files but get internal server errors for both. The preview with the plan views and design information comes up, but clicking the Import button gives "Internal server error"
Let me know if I'm doing something wrong. I just saved a couple of .gem files as .asc and tried those.

And I like the additional calculators you've added. Very useful, especially the length, width, crown and pavilion measurements. Helps a lot to determine how much stone will be required to cut the design.
One thing - entering numbers into the measurements section won't accept a decimal point. But otherwise the site is a great tool.
Thanks for creating and sharing it!
