I cut the first 4 facets and that went great (P1), then the next set (P2), but when I started cutting P3 I noticed that the facet is coming in from the extended pear end, not the back round end (facet cuts in from where it looks like P9 should, instead of where P3 is).
I've included a picture, when I line up where the next sets of facets will cut, the elongated end facets seem to be cut where the round end is, and vice versa. Interestingly enough, the crown facets all seem to line up in the right spot. Someone please double check what I'm doing wrong!
P.S. Shoutout to Arya for the serious throwback between both the name of the cut and his "nickname" under the author.

Isn't it just that you're marking your facet indexes on your picture according to where your wheel is in the background but really, you always end up cutting *opposite* to where your wheel is set?
Like if you set your wheel to 48 in the machine, that's going to gouge out the portion of the stone lined up with the 96 on the wheel...
In other words, it's cutting correctly, your pavilion was just transferred up-side down. From here you could just rotate your indices by 48 to get new cutting values, or swap the stone over and start again.

Yeah I figured the whole thing was just upside down. I think I got confused though because the point on the diagram is towards the 48, so I did the same thing to match it up, when in reality it should be at the 96 because that's where it will cut. I've never done a stone like this and the symmetry has always lined up from other cuts so I guess I never had to think about it!

Hey everyone, I'm tackling my first pear shape
First pear and you go for Tear of Elune? On the bright side, at least your second pear will be easy by comparison..
This is a cool cut if done correctly, i like it in green-ish Apatite. However, i did the same exact thing you did the first time i cut this. you can in gemcad flip the 96,and 48 index's around.
