Hello, everyone. I have a .78ct Luc Yen cobalt spinel piece of rough, and I'm trying to find someone (preferably) in the U.S. who is up for the challenge of cutting it. I've reached out to everyone I know and they've all politely declined. That led me here and I'm hoping I can change my luck. I look forward to any and all replies. Thank you.

Stats:
.78ct
6.64 x 5.96 x 3.31mm
Recently got it back from GIA so I know it's natural and untreated

That’s kind of a small stone for most people on here to cut. Typically you recover less than 1/3 of the original weight, so I would imagine your finished stone will be under 0.25 ct. Not many custom cutters would take on such a small stone as the cost to cut it wouldn’t really make sense.

Thank you for the response, Precision Gem. I realize it's a small piece of rough - tiny even, if you will - but I'd like to at least see if anyone is willing to help. A lot of the faceted cobalts I see are around that size when finished, and I'd be okay with that. I've even considered different cuts like fantasy or rose cut. I'm totally open. I'd also be willing to compensate someone for their time. In order to feel good about leaving it as-is (as a specimen), I at least want to exhaust all my options.

I might be down; I like cutting small. I've done 3.0mm, 0.2 ct rounds and 0.3-0.35 ct rhombus and square cushions. PM me some pics of your rough, and what your aims are?
