Hi, i'm a jewler from uruguay, i'm new in the stone faceting world and want to buy a machine to start working home. I assist to a school where i use raytech equipment, but there is no way to buy any equipment cause there are not local shops that sells any lapidary stuff, the only choice is to make online purchase but cause the local laws cant make a purchase over 200 without being overburdened with astronomical taxes so i've found two diferent machines in aliexpress and alibaba.

You will need to build, and align, a lap platform to use with that tower.

The table is way too small for the handpiece that sits on it.

Both widgets will cut facets, but with an extreme fiddle factor which you will probably regret.

The first one is reasonably common in Africa because of he price. In the right hands it can produce attractive stones. However, it is not very accurate. It's strongest feature is that it is very convenient for examining stones during cutting. This is a good thing because you will end up cutting as much by eye, as by machine.

The fable piece in the second link would be my preferred choice. Many use this with good results.

It looks like the links you provided are only for the faceting heads. You will need a base also. The base design needed for these two heads is completely different. Make sure you understand what you need before your order.

Hi, thanks for the answers.

Yes i'm going to build a base and table, for the first machine that is a mastil machine (dont know if its says like that haa), is simpler than the second one caus i know that base is not included. Thanks for replays!

I tried to start with something like on the first link trying to adapt it to a base and that was not a good idea for a newcomer.

Its hard to adjust the angle, no stop and inaccurate cheater. That may work for an experienced faceter with a good eye but its close to the Jam Peg.

Some people say they can't afford cheap tools.
