So i finally broke the black belt that drives the spindle from the motor.
I was going to get a replacement from the Graves website- but shipping is 3x the price of the belt ( @$15). Any other suggestions?

The belt will be a stock item, take your broken belt to your local engineering supplier and ask for two the same (one as a spare so you can keep running the next time you break a belt). Also, superglue the ends of the broken belt together to keep you running whilst the replacement comes, I have done this with one of my machines and the repaired belt has lasted longer than the belt did before breakage!

As Alan suggests, get an o-ring. Glue yours back together.

Moons ago I got fed up with the original slipping or jumping off, got a length of o-ring from a hydraulics shop and super glued it together. Problem solved.

I've never tried "O" rings, but I will now, sounds an excellent idea. If it doesn't work, the cost is almost nothing.

Consider a urethane o-ring/belt. The material is sold in straight lengths which is welded together by flaming the two ends and then pushing them together until cool. The result will be a bulged joint which can then be smoothed with a stone bur or sanding drum in a Dremel. If the belt ever breaks, repairs are done the same way.

Ended up "welding" my belt together with a bic lighter, now to sand down that bur.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions.
