I’ve been wanting to meet the lapidaries at Chas Matthews for a long time. These guys are some of London’s last master gemstones cutters and they still use 100 year old hand crank machines to cut and polish high end gemstones. I was lucky enough to visit their studio for a few hours today to talk about their technique, the history of their machines, and the changes they’ve witnessed in London over the 40 years of their gem cutting careers.

That's awesome and I think they're the smart ones..oh to be able to sit properly/comfortably when faceting.
