I found this interesting, thought I'd share it.
Have any of you ever seen something like this? Look at how he uses those screw tight metal ledges built into the second mast as a protractor to set the angles by adjusting the height.
I have one of these. It is a neat unit, though I haven't used it much or gotten good yet. One issue is it doesn't easily allow for cutting a girdle or finding a center point so the stones have to be well preformed first. Still, I have seen very passable and even good stones cut on them, and it allows for extremely fast cutting too.

Качество такой огранки очень плохое. Подходит для дешевой бижутерии. The quality of such faceting is very poor. Suitable for cheap jewelry .
Honestly that's better than what I was expecting. Which means that if the cutter spent more time and paid more attention, then the stone may look quite ok.

Yeah, not really a jamb peg, though there's still a fair amount of playing it by ear on the angles, since the height only mostly controls the angle. I am hoping to get decent with it--I don't know that it will ever be a big money maker, but it is fun to work on, and cutting cabs has gotten me accustomed to a fairly quick lapidary timeline.
