To all,

Due to a change in email and corruption, I lost almost all my contacts and addresses. Since I'm upgrading I'd like to donate my Facetron and a boat-load of accessories to the NC Faceters guild (or any other worthwhile organization).

If they would be so kind, please PM me and we can work out how to deliver it. The machine is in perfect working condition and I have accessories out the wazoo.

However, no laps. They can pry my Gearloose lap collection from my cold, dead hands :)

My thanks

To all, a good home has been found for it and some new students will have something to learn on :)

Bob,

I've been teaching faceting at NCSU for 10 years and haven't heard of a Raleigh Faceter's Guild. But I would like to join.

The Tar Heel Gem and Mineral Club meets at the NCSU Craft Center and supplies the Instructors for the faceting and cabbing classes, along with the machines.

We have a loaner program with 5 machines, all of which are loaned out. If you would like to donate your machine to us, it would be appreciated and gladly accepted. As we are a IRS charitable group we can document the donation for tax purposes if you would like.

BY the way, all 6 machines in the Craft Center are Facetrons.

The town of Cary has had an on and off again faceting instruction. I would have to contact my friend who helped there if that would be your preference.

Bob

Bob,

Unfortunately, I donated it to another club/guild from a member on here. I lost all of my emails so I had no way to reach out directly and when I didn't hear anything I passed it on.

However, I may have some new equipment to send your way if things work out (trim saw, visors and a few other things).

All the best and I'm so sorry it's already been claimed

I didn't realize you two were local. Any chance I might see either of you at the Tar Heel show in a couple weeks?

Stephen,

I'd love to if I'm in town. Please let me know what the dates are and I'll try and attend if I can (and would love to meet up). Right now it looks like I'm going to be working in Canada for the next 6 weeks to 6 months

That's too bad, though we do have a good number of local shows so there's always another chance. The Tar Heel show is April 5-7th at the Kerr Scott Building (state fair grounds). It tends to be a good show, though you may or may not find much stuff for faceting.

Wait, there's an NC/Raleigh faceters guild? I live in Chapel Hill now and would love to go to events and stuff.

Arya,

It was me that made the mistake. I re-titled the "Tar Heel Gem and Mineral Club " as a faceting guild as I couldn't remember the name.

Also, good to hear you're also in the area. If it's Chapel Hill, I have a niece at that same hospital as a RN (all three of my sisters are RN/Specialty RN's).

The tar heel gem and mineral club is fun, though I continually forget to actually attend meetings. Most meetings aren't very faceting-oriented.

I am originally a North Carolina boy, but now I only show there once a a year from mid-June to mid-July. I would love to meet some local faceters on my next trip. I've heard the Facetors Frolic is a great experience. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this year. Aside from the "Tar Heel Gem and Mineral Club" are there other opportunities in Central North Carolina to meet up with faceters?
