Just ran across this and wondered if anyone here knows if this is just hype or if the stone has real gem potential. The "harder than diamond" stuff is nonsense according another article in Forbes -- it's denser than diamond but not harder they say. Anyow anytime a new mineral is discovered it's interesting -- especially if it might have gem applications.
Another ugly mineral occurrence being promoted as a gemstone. The 33cts is the size of the corundum piece that encapsulates the minute Carmeltazite inclusions.
Just being used to hype an otherwise uninteresting stone.
