Waspar,

I have no affiliation or knowledge. However, the topic below this one (if it hasn't moved), is about how justinkprim setup a faceting operation in that neck of the woods. Worst case, he might be able to point you to someone who could help. See topic:

See "Journey to the land... " by justinkprim and send a note would be my suggestion

I had some rubies cut in Idar Oberstein, Germany. The tolerances were tight (they had to be cut to a precisely sized trapezoid to form a circle). When they came back they were perfect, and made up into a beautiful brooch. I forget the name of the company, but there are lots of cutters there who specialise and I would consult their trade directory, of even visit, well worth a trip!

What kind of sizes and quality are the stones, and what kind of quantity.

My recommendation would depend on the answer to these questions. It may also require different cutters for different segments of production.

You are dealing in stones that depending on size and quality will have vastly different values. How you handle the different segments is supremely important to financial outcome.

Quite right, the stones I was having cut were top quality Burmese rubies, finished weight about 0.64 carats, so not big, but the tolerances were tight, so the cost was not a huge factor. Best to get quotes, then you can match the quality of the stone and the finish required, to the quality (and therefore cost) of the cutting.

I’m a cutter in bangkok and I also work with several factories here so that I can be competitive on price and also be able to do large parcels that would otherwise be too big for my wife and I to cut In a reasonable amount of time. Feel free to message me.
