Hi guys!

A few months ago I took a faceting class and my instructor used a dop glue that cured under UV light. I unfortunately can't reach him to ask the specifics. Does anyone have any information/recommendations regarding such a glue?

Thanks!

There are quite a few epoxies that cure with UV. That's an interesting choice, I think the most typical epoxy choices are superglue variants since they tend to hold tight and are easy to remove with heat or acetone.

Wayne Emery has been using UV-cured adhesives. I believe he's a member here.

SureHold 22021 Helios - it's a kit with the adhesive and the light, works great and cures in about 5-10 seconds.
Loctite AA 352 works great also.

I believe I purchased an epoxy of this type at home Depot and it came with the UV light in the box, but the light didn't work so I returned and never actually had a chance to try this glue for dop. That doesn't help much for this thread.

I use Loctite 3556 for some different tasks. This acrylate adhesive cures under blue-violet visible light, instead of UV light. To cure the adhesive, I use either a cheap 405 nm LED flashlight (dozens and dozens available on ebay and amazon), or a 405 nm laser pointer, or a 405 nm LED nail polish curing lamp (again, dozens available on ebay and amazon).

I purchase some odd things at my university, but the only purchase I've had to explain to an auditor was the nail polish curing lamp. So handy (pun!), when I don't want to hold a flashlight on the curing piece, I can just set the piece under the lamp.

I've seen a nail polish curing lamp box for de-browning glass from microscopes objectives exposed to X-rays. Lots of uses for those boxes!
