Post subject:  Facetron maintenance, replacing bearings?

Afternoon

Have inherited a facetron and interested in learning to maintain/use it, works mostly fine, except from the feel of it I need to replace the bearings inside the drive assembly. Has anyone done this before or seen any material that could give me some tips on how to achieve this, other than shipping it to America to have the parts replaced?

Thanks for any assistance

What makes you think the bearings need replacement? If they do, any light engineering works should be able to help you.

Facetron machines are not the quietest running machines. A great deal of the noise is probably due to the belt. It needs to be lubed occasionally, and have the tightness adjusted. Try that first.

Hey

I think the bearings need replacement due to the feel of the disk being turned without the belt attached, a slight 'clicking' in every 1/4-3/4's of a turn, and thanks for the tip on the engineering works.
Also yes I have looked into the belt and learned to clean and adjust that.
Thanks again
