It is with great sadness I'd like to announce Dr. Hanneman passed away on December 12, 2020. His legacy will live on forever!

Hello group,

I am new to this forum, hoping I chose the correct board topic to ask my question. Currently, I am in dire need of a partially keyed threaded shaft as follows:

8" long by 3/4" diameter
Keyed to 2 1/2" long by 3/8" wide
5/8” thread length

This shaft holds two bearings in my Highland Park rock saw. See the shaft here... https://www.flickr.com/photos/190089085@N04/?

Does anyone know the correct name to this type of shaft, and where I could possibly find one? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Much thanks,
Charles

The last I knew Highland Park still sells parts. Have you tried contacting them.

Since I wrote my post here, I did find Highland Park's website. It seems they are out of many parts, and some of their pages don't work.

Nevertheless, I will call the number on the site this coming Tuesday in the hopes I can reach someone.

I've also since learned that my part is called an Arbor shaft, a particular part hard to come by for my old Highland Park slab saw.

Thank you, my friend.

If Highland Park doesn't have any for sale it should be a relatively simple job for a machine shop to make one.

Thanks Jim. This will certainly be an option for me. I have a company about 40 miles from here who might be able to assist.
