Tourmaline in an opposed bar design. Took me about 5 hours on a peaceful Saturday. Cut on a worn 600 topper and then to BATT with 8000 and then 100,000 pandemonium stick then the final shine from a Greenway.

Came out very nice! Still using your Scintillator or have you made a transition to another machine?

This one was on the Scintillator. I just recently bought a vintage German ALGE handpiece machine but it hasn't got to Thailand. I'm sure I will continue to use both. They are relaxing in different ways

Hi Lisa - Good to see your work here again. I am learning to cut fluorite - material from southern Zimbabwe, via South African dealer Rob Smith. These are practice stones before I tackle the clean material. The yellow stone is based on Robert Strickland's 'Tucson Retro Hexagon', with a modified crown. The fuzziness is due to internal cleavages. The green stone is ‘Xephyr’ by Arya Akhavan. Both stones look better in the hand. Duncan

My girlfriend is out of town so I've been going crazy on my stone cutting. I cut 4 stones over the weekend and 2 more in the last two days. This one I cut today with no plan at all, just some guessed angles and a lot of free styling. I am really happy with how it came out.

Just finished this last night. Lindi garnet 1.54 ct in Voltini's Raspberry. 1200 plated- 3k pcd on BATT - 60K on BATT on my little wobbly old Raytech.
Pretty pleased with the light performance. I am still super new to faceting so I tend to tear up my polishing lap trying to get the facet to sit right. I was trying to 60K polish the girdle but I gave up. It was creating fine metal shavings on the drain pan. It did give the BATT a very smooth finish out there on the edge.

Here is another one. A 4.62ct aquamarine in Piatt's Oval. I am a goldsmith and jewelry designer so most of my interest is in shapes that are not rounds, squares, or equilateral triangles. This is my first beryl as I am still in my infancy as a cutter. I really enjoyed how easy it was to polish. 1200 plated to 8K on zinc+ to 60K on BATT

Here is an aquamarine that I finished a few days ago. I started the cut about 15 years ago. I put it aside for all these years because the cut presented difficulties that I could not overcome. I found it a few days ago. With a little courage, I took it back and finished the cut. I did the design myself with Gemcad. This is an elongated trillant with a barion pavilion. I am very happy with the result and especially, having finally finished the cut. The size is 14.8 mm x 19.0 mm and the weight is 14.15 cts.

Excited to be able to add my first contribution to this thread! I haven't had as much time to practice lately as I'd like, and they are a far cry from the amazing stones I see here - however, these are the first two stones that I'm really happy with the results of. Excuse the less than stellar photos...yet another skill to develop!
Both are from the same piece of "Rose de France" amethyst that I picked up at a local Gem & Mineral show. Based on the reading I've done, I think that's a bit of a stretch - especially since the little SRB ended up totally clear (but it was inexpensive to practice on!).
