Before and after of an orange Sri Lankan Sapphire. Started as an 8.06ct, and finished out at 6.24ct with a step-cut crown and a radiant-style pavilion. 10.45 x 8.70 x 7.0mm. Report from AGL that it is heat only - no beryllium.

Thanks Alan, I used a 600 grit wheel. It was a small stone (5.5 mm). I like to polish the whole stone then add in the frosted facets by rubbing the stone on the stationary lap.

Dichroic Oregon sunstone
Before
After, 1.52 carats
It's less blue in person, I think I was picking up some extra blue from the sky's reflection (finally blue skies!). It's a nice teal with peach on opposing corners.
Gorgeous result! How did you orient the rough? I have a bunch of dichroic green/red but have no idea how to orient to avoid getting muddy colour as a result.

I just tried to cut for the brightest green. It's a little muddy in person, the close up picture makes the colors look more distinct. I think I'd have had to cut it like a closed-c tourmaline to get rid of the red better.

Just completed a more interesting custom cutting job than the usual repairs... Namibian tourmaline, 65.91 ct rough to 21.90 ct barion pear (based on Jeff Graham's original design), 33% recovery but not entirely flawless (with bonus dust spots).

Heres a Uruguay amethyst that I recently cut into Fred Van Sants - Deneb design. The photography is pretty average but the stone turned out well with some nice blue flashes. The 12.40ct piece ended up as a 4ct (10.1mm) faceted stone - c.a. 32% recovery. Happy with the result
