Well, my 27 year old son spent the entire weekend taking walks and seems totally hooked with this game.

Yesterday when I was on my errands, I noticed a ton of people (everywhere) staring at their phones in a semi trance.

At first I was thinking, "Look at these dummies."

Now, I'm withing minutes of downloading the game.

Anyone else?

At first I was horrified at the concept, given News reports of people being stalked, and today, two people had wandered off a hundred foot cliff."At last! Technology triumphs! Something even worse than texting."
BUT: At least it is getting people to walk around. What with reports of people being found dead while marathon online gaming, it's SOME kind of positive change.
A few years ago, a couple with children moved in next door. They are somewhat old-fashioned-No gaming. But I realized with a shock, that I had not heard children playing outdoors in perhaps a decade or more, at least around here. It could have even started in the Dark Ages of Atari.

Yes, people have walked off cliffs, onto freeways, into rivers. There is something Darwinian about that scenario. 8)

I saw a pizza shop owner on TV saying he spent $10 for one of the game's electronic "lures" (can't recall the actual name of the device), and his business jumped 75%. Eating all that pizza might offset any health benefits the players gain from walking.
