Ahhhh....I am someone who loves to visit art museum's! Sadly, I haven't been able to visit anyplace like that here lately. The last art showing I went to was at the High Museum in ATL. They had brought the "Louvre Museum" to the "High museum", or so that is what they called it, and it featured some amazing works of art I just couldn't pass up.

Belated birthday wishes Barbra!
Magritte eh? "This is not a gemstone..." We saw a Magritte showing here in L.A. several years ago.
Though most museums have only cafeterias and are not in the same gastronomic class as In Situ, I've been impressed at the quality of the offerings at several I've visited. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent food at the British Museum as well as the Malibu Getty and main Getty here in L.A. The L.A. Museum of Art (LACMA) is always a treat because of the many food trucks lined up to serve visitors most days. Not white tablecloth class but good grub.

Barbra: I think one is as surreal as the other. I'd been blissfully unaware of the Weather Girls until I looked them up just now on YouTube. I have no idea what the inspiration was for their song, just as I have no idea why Magritte titled his interesting work Golconda nor the painting's intended meaning.
What is it about that storied diamond mine that would inspire falling (or floating or buoyant) men? His art consistently makes the point that the artistic representation of reality isn't reality. It seems to me this painting takes that a confusing step further by starting with an unrealistic premise. But hey, I'm just an ordinary mutt, not an art critic.
