Some blackish, lesser attractive stones named as quercyte from the US has appeared on ebay . I dont think its a scam, just a misnamed stone as I cant find it on mindat.

Anybody that can share some light on the subject? :)

:) hi ms effie!!

the seller has several of the mysterious faceted quercyte gemstones. i searched on the internet and the seller is the only search result i can find on this gemstone. one of the larger stones, around 3+ct is a reddish brown color. i wonder what these gems are since they are mined in the us. maybe you could contact the seller and ask what these gems are and where they were found in the us. ?

It should be a kind of carbonate-apatite. We have some in our bones too, I guess...
